Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep If we can share our story with someone who has empathy, shame cannot survive. Dear God, Help me to be that person who gives empathy and understanding. But also help me to learn the balance between caring and fixing. Amen

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. — be intolerant of moral laxity, compromise, and cowardice Dear God, Help me not to be apathetic to the evils around me. Beyond that, Lord, don’t let me despair. Keep reminding me that it is possible to overcome evil with good. Amen

Hope does not disappoint us Christianity is about hope and possibility Dear God, My hope is in You. Sometimes I am weary of this world. At times it feels hopeless. Help me to plant my hope firmly on You. Amen

For everything, there is a season— Often quoted, rarely understood Dear God, Thank you for this season of my life. Thank you that I am who I am and that I can continue to become who You want me to be. Assure me, that even in hard times You are working for my good. Amen

Now faith, hope, and love abide—the greatest of these is love. Love totally, completely, without reservation. Dear God, I want to love. I want to not just love those who are easy to love, but those who are not. Help me to love the annoying, the haters, the exploiters, and the cruel. Amen

Where your treasures are, there your heart is also Very small things can change the world Dear God. Remind me that very small changes can change the world. Help me to make those changes. Amen

The old me is gone; Christ has made me new. Rest in your God-breathed worth. Dear God, Help me to rest in You. Help me to be the new creation that You have made me to be. Amen

The light shines in darkness The wound is the place where the Light enters you Dear God, Help me to accept Your light and reflect that light to others. Use my wounds to shine Your light. Amen

May the glory of the Lord endure forever The greatest of secrets is always hidden in the most unlikely places Dear God, Help me to see Your glory each day. The world is full of miracles. Open my eyes. Amen

—and neither shall they learn war anymore Let us be peacemakers Dear God, I want to be a peacemaker. I want to work for a more just world. Show me the way, Amen
